Is baking your gift?
You can join the efforts here and become a Benevolent Baker! You can be anywhere in the world, and bake any style of bread you want as long as you abide by a few simple rules.
1. Look out for the health of the recipients. At minimum that requires a clean baking environment, food safe containers or wrapping, a label on each loaf with all ingredients used (Avoid cross contamination and common allergens or add a warning to the label if you work in an environment where you process something like tree nuts or peanuts that may not be an ingredient.)
2. Never charge for your baked goods, time, or delivery. We are a non-profit charitable organization.
3. Respect the privacy of recipients. Never share photos, videos, or identifying information about anyone without their permission, and we prefer that you not ask for permission. They are already having a hard time if they are visiting a food pantry or shelter, let's show them our respect for their privacy.
4. Be responsible with the use of the Benevolent Bakers logo, website, and social media accounts. A lot of volunteer effort goes into organizing something like this movement. Please do not alter the logo or use it in a negative way. You are an ambassador of goodwill when you don the name of Benevolent Baker.
5. Share your contributions proudly so that others might be inspired to join us in our efforts! It's a big world, and it's a lot of work to feed it. We can always use help!
